AFree Terms of Service

These terms cover your AFree account and the AFree products you use with it: AFreeHub, AFreeNews, AFreeFlix, AFreeMusic, AFreeCreate, AFreeTV and AFreeNetwork. They are an agreement between you and [AFree legal entity name and registered address — to be confirmed] ("AFree", "we").

How we handle your personal data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

You must be 18 or older to create and hold an AFree account. When you create one you confirm that you are, and that you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. We record which versions you accepted and when.

An account is a household. You can add up to five profiles, including Kids and Teen profiles for children in your care. Children use AFree only through those profiles, under your supervision; they do not get accounts of their own. Kids and Teen profiles only see content rated for them, and you can lock any profile with a 4-digit PIN. You are responsible for choosing the right profile for each person and for keeping PINs private.

• You sign in on AFreeHub with a one-time code sent to your email, or with a passkey (Face ID, fingerprint or your device PIN).
• TVs and other screens are signed in by confirming a code on AFreeHub. Each one appears under "Where you're signed in", where you can sign it out.
• You are responsible for what happens through your account. Tell us at privacy@[to-be-confirmed] if you think someone else has used it, and use "Sign out everywhere" on your account page.

If you become a creator (for example by signing up on AFreeCreate), you must own, or have permission to use, everything you publish, including the voices, faces and music in it.

If you ask AFree to subtitle or dub a title you own, its media is sent to our translation provider, Project Wider, to produce the tracks. Tracks are labelled as machine translation until a reviewer approves them. Dubbing in a real performer's voice is only possible with an active license from that performer that covers the use and every target language.

• To own an AI avatar of yourself, or to act for a performer or an estate, you must first verify your identity with our verification partner.
• Uses of an avatar are approved with AFree Sign-Off: you sign each approval with your passkey after a liveness check. Approvals, revocations and signed license agreements are written to an append-only Rights Registry so that anyone relying on them can check who approved what. Registry entries cannot be edited or deleted.
• Bookings and licenses between performers and producers follow the terms both parties agree and sign. Deposits are paid through Paystack or Stripe on their own payment pages; their terms also apply to the payment.

Stations, studios, channels and creator networks apply to join AFreeNetwork. An AFree administrator approves or rejects each application, and checks sponsor declarations before they are used. [Commercial terms for partners — counsel to complete.]

• Don't break the law, infringe other people's rights, or upload content that harms children.
• Don't try to get around profile ratings, PINs, sign-in or licensing checks, or access accounts that aren't yours.
• Don't publish or use someone's likeness or voice without their permission.

Each version of these terms has a version number (this one is 2026-09-30-draft). When we publish a new version, we ask you to review and accept it on your account page.

You can't yet close your account yourself in the app. To close it, email privacy@[to-be-confirmed] from the address on your account and we will handle the request. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
